Puppy Wellness Guide

Frenchie Dietary Needs

To keep your Frenchie healthy, always measure their portions and offer three small meals throughout the day. Select a high-quality, gentle food formulated specifically for their notoriously sensitive stomachs. Avoid any sudden changes to their diet to prevent digestive upset and maintain peak wellness.

Grooming Routine

Shampoo and Grooming
Frenchies have short, low-maintenance coats, but their skin needs real attention. The skin folds around their face, tail pocket, and underarms trap moisture and debris — making them a hotspot for irritation and infection if not cleaned regularly.

Shampoo: Use a gentle, hypoallergenic formula for sensitive or short-coated breeds. Avoid sulfates, artificial fragrances, or alcohol. Oatmeal or aloe vera formulas soothe skin prone to dryness. Frenchies only need a bath every 4–6 weeks.

Wrinkle cleaner: Non-negotiable. Clean and dry the skin folds at minimum every few days — ideally daily. After cleaning, make sure the fold is completely dry. Trapped moisture leads to yeast and bacterial growth quickly.

Ear cleaner: Apply a gentle ear-cleaning solution weekly with a cotton ball to prevent buildup.

Nail trimmer: Trim every 3–4 weeks. Overgrown nails change weight distribution while walking, stressing the joints over time.

Toothbrush and toothpaste: Use a finger brush or small-headed dog toothbrush a few times a week with enzymatic dog toothpaste. Never use human toothpaste — fluoride is toxic to dogs.

Secure Living Space

Frenchies need a safe and calm area in your home to feel relaxed and secure. Ensure this space is free of hazards like loose electrical wires or small objects that could be swallowed. Set up the spot with a sturdy crate or playpen, a soft bed, and easy access to fresh water at all times. Use this quick checklist to prepare for your puppy:
• Hide or secure all loose power cords
• Pick up small toys and choking hazards
• Set up a cozy crate or exercise pen
• Place a soft, washable bed inside
• Provide a spill-proof water bowl
• Use baby gates to block stairs or rooms that are not puppy-safe

Breeding and Adoption FAQ

What defines our breeding ethics?

We are committed to ethical breeding that focuses on the wellness and joy of our dogs. Our methods include strict health checks and genetic screenings to ensure each puppy we produce is a robust and cheerful addition to your home.

How is puppy health monitored?

Each puppy at Sassy Belle's receives a thorough medical review. This involves a full vet exam, sensory testing, and a specific health certificate delivered to every new owner to provide complete confidence in their new pet.

How does the adoption work?

Our placement process is created for ease and transparency. We begin with a short application and house check to verify your space is ideal for a Bulldog. Once cleared, we assist in matching you with a pup that fits your lifestyle.

Is there a health warranty?

We offer a health warranty for our pups. Should a puppy be diagnosed with a covered genetic issue within their first year, we will collaborate with you on a solution. This reflects our dedication to their long-term health and wellness.
